Some High Elevation Southeastern Arizona Trees


Many different kinds of trees live at high elevations in Arizona. A large number of these are conifers, such as Ponderosa Pine and Douglas Fir, described in other sections. One very characteristic tree is Quaking Aspen. Its leaves are a lovely pale green in spring as it leafs out and they turn a brilliant yellow in the fall. Its white-ish trunk with dark markings is noticeable against nearby evergreen trees.
